H&E Equipment Services is currently evaluating the number of employees affected by flood damage. The company recently announced its acquisition of Lewistown Rental, an equipment rental business based in Montana, along with three affiliated rental operations in Havre, Glasgow, and Great Falls. Each location serves various markets, including non-residential, industrial, and agriculture, with a total fleet value of $28.5 million.

The transaction is expected to be finalized in the second quarter of 2024 pending customary closing conditions. H&E CEO Brad Barber stated that Lewistown Rental has experienced growth by catering to a unique customer base in underserved markets in northern and central Montana. He emphasized the increasing demand for construction, industrial, and agricultural projects in the region.

With this acquisition, H&E’s equipment rental operations will expand to 145 locations in 30 states, including existing branches in Billings and Belgrade. This move is part of the company’s strategy to enhance its presence in key markets across the country. Last year, H&E acquired Precision Rentals, an equipment services firm based in Arizona.
