Harry Potter fans are in for a treat, as HBO and Warner Bros. Television have announced the upcoming original series adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s beloved book series. Francesca Gardiner has been named showrunner and executive producer for the new project, while Mark Mylod will serve as executive producer and director for multiple episodes. The series is currently in development and will be available on HBO Max’s expanding global platform.

Gardiner is known for her work on popular shows like “Succession” and “His Dark Materials,” and she will lead the production alongside Mylod to bring the magical world of Hogwarts to a whole new audience. Each season promises to bring these iconic stories to audiences around the globe, while also honoring the legacy of the original films that have captivated audiences for over twenty-five years.

The new series is being developed by a collaboration between HBO, Brontë Film and TV, and Warner Bros. Television, with executive producers including Rowling herself, Neil Blair, Ruth Kenley-Letts, and David Heyman. This faithful adaptation promises to capture the same fantastic detail and beloved characters that have made “Harry Potter” one of the most successful book and film franchises of all time.
