Wesley Harper, a descendant of one of the Shenandoah Valley’s first residents to have electricity, is now using his experience in software and passion for agriculture to bridge the gap between the two worlds. In 2022, he founded Shenandoah Ag Tech, a company that aims to make the Valley’s agriculture business more accessible through software solutions.

Growing up on a farm and working in software for over 15 years, Harper identified potential problems in the agricultural community that could be solved with technology. This led him to create four apps under Shenandoah Ag Tech: Shenandoah Ag Pro, Ag Customer Pro, Ag Market Report Creator, and Ag Fence Pro. These apps provide market reports, track hauling and deliveries, simplify market report creation, and help estimate and map fencing.

Despite initial concerns about technology’s impact on agriculture, Harper believes it can only benefit farmers in making better decisions in their business. Shenandoah Ag Tech also offers branding services to assist farmers in marketing their products and services, including mobile app development, website design, and aerial videography.

As technology continues to play an increasingly significant role in agriculture, Harper and his team at Shenandoah Ag Tech are committed to providing local farmers with the tools and support they need to succeed. The apps developed by the company are available for free on both Apple and Android devices without requiring any sign-up or personal information.
