Hankook is taking a refreshing approach to its elevation to the World Rally Championship by focusing on making tires for 2025. The Seoul-based firm has decided to ditch the bells, whistles, sell and spiel, and concentrate on developing tires that will meet the needs of the teams running on all surfaces.

Manfred Sandbichler, Hankook’s motorsport director for Europe, understands the importance of winning the bid for the control tire. He mentioned that they are testing and are on track to meet their targets. The tire for next year’s Sweden cover has already been signed off, while Croatia and Portugal will provide valuable mileage on asphalt and gravel tires, respectively.

Hankook’s approach to the World Rally Championship is focused on developing high-quality tires that will meet the demands of the teams competing on different surfaces. By prioritizing performance and reliability, the company aims to establish itself as a leading tire supplier in the championship.
