On Friday, two legendary broadcasters will reunite in the St. Louis Cardinals’ television booth. According to a press release, Joe Buck and Chip Caray will broadcast the Cardinals’ game against the Chicago Cubs on Bally Sports Midwest.

Jack Donovan, Bally Sports Midwest general manager and senior vice president, expressed excitement about the collaboration, calling Buck and Caray two of the best broadcasters of their generation. He emphasized the significance of this duo bringing their talents to cover another chapter in the Cardinals-Cubs rivalry, linking decades of Cardinals and baseball history.

Buck, who currently serves as the play-by-play announcer for Monday Night Football on ESPN, will be returning to call his first local Cardinals telecast in 17 years. He previously broadcasted games on FOX Sports Midwest and the Cardinals Radio Network from 1991 to 2007. Buck expressed his enthusiasm for returning to where his career began in the big leagues, stating that the Cardinals hold a special place in his heart. He looks forward to working with longtime friend Chip Caray, acknowledging that it will be a joy to share the booth with him for a night.

In this special broadcast, Buck will be filling in for Brad Thompson and Jim Edmonds on May 24. Both Buck and Caray come from families deeply rooted in baseball broadcasting, with Joe being the son of Jack Buck and Chip being the grandson of Harry Caray.
