A man died after a dispute in a business parking lot on Normandy Boulevard escalated into gunfire, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office reported. The incident occurred at Charlie’s Liquor and Hookah Lounge around 1:10 a.m., where over 100 people were present. However, it remains unclear how many individuals were involved in the gunfire that resulted in the man’s death.

The reason behind the argument that led to the shooting is still being investigated, and it is uncertain whether the victim was acquainted with the shooters. Before law enforcement arrived at the scene, witnesses took the injured man to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Additionally, nearby businesses were affected by the gunfire, according to JSO.

Security guards stationed at the lounge did not engage in the shooting incident and there is no indication that they were connected to the violence.
