On Thursday, July 4, 2024, at 10:15 a.m. (MT), the Honourable Dan Vandal, Minister for PrairiesCan, will make an announcement about federal support for small- and medium-sized businesses in Alberta. The aim of this support is to help these businesses take advantage of economic opportunities by commercializing and adopting clean technologies and clean energy solutions.
The announcement is part of a major investment to advance clean technology innovation across the province. Joining Minister Vandal will be several notable representatives including the Honourable Randy Boissonnault, Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Official Languages; George Chahal, Member of Parliament for Calgary Skyview; Jyoti Gondek, Mayor of the City of Calgary; Jason Chernow, Calgary Elbow Métis District 6 Citizens’ Representative and Secretary of Environment and Climate Change for the Otipemisiwak Métis Government of the Métis Nation within Alberta; Michael Mahon, Interim CEO of Alberta Innovates; Sean De Vries, Executive Chair of the Battery Metals Association of Canada; and Thomas McArthur, Chief Operating Officer of Kuva Systems.
