The K group has reported strong sales of these products, with first-week sales exceeding expectations. However, the S group is still gathering data to draw conclusions on their popularity. Both groups have noted increased interest from customers looking for more alcohol options while shopping for food.

The introduction of alcoholic drinks with up to eight percent strength in grocery stores was a significant reform that is expected to double or triple the market for these beverages in the short term. During Midsummer week, which coincided with the two-week sales period, sparkling wines were particularly popular in the S group while white wines remained the best-selling category overall.

White wines and stronger lager beers have been among the most popular options with consumers since the law reform took effect. It remains too early to draw definitive conclusions about the impact of this law on alcohol sales in grocery stores, but initial data suggests a positive trend. The K group reports that sales of mild wines have followed a similar pattern to other alcohol products during this period, and it is expected that this will benefit smaller stores and those without access to specialized liquor stores like Alko.
