In an effort to combat the issue of plastic waste and work towards carbon neutrality by 2050, many businesses in Vietnam are introducing initiatives to promote environmental sustainability. An Lac supermarket and found it meaningful for raising awareness about environmental protection, despite the points earned not being significant.
Central Retail Vietnam, for example, has implemented can collection machines at their supermarkets to promote recycling of plastic waste. The company’s CEO, Mr. Olivier Langlet, emphasized the importance of this initiative in reducing CO2 emissions and energy consumption, as well as creating a cleaner environment for future generations. Although there may be initial investment costs associated with recycling waste collection machines, Central Retail Vietnam believes that in the long run it will result in a more sustainable economy and environment.
Other businesses and organizations in Vietnam, such as Vietcycle Joint Stock Company, also aim to increase the collection of recyclable waste nationwide through initiatives like these. By implementing recycling programs like the can and bottle collection machines at supermarkets, consumers can contribute to environmental preservation while also raising awareness about the importance of waste management and recycling. With hopes that recycling becomes a part of everyday life in Vietnam, efforts towards a greener, more beautiful and sustainable future for generations to come continue.
