Drowning is the leading cause of death for children ages 1-4 in the U.S., with numbers increasing in recent years. In fact, according to the CDC, there were over 4,500 drownings annually from 2020-2022, which is 500 more per year compared to 2019. In addition, drowning in children ages 1-4 spiked by 28% compared to previous years.

Participants in the event will receive free swimming lessons led by certified instructors. By participating in this event, families can help raise awareness about water safety and ensure that their children are equipped with the knowledge and skills they need to stay safe around water all summer long.
