A week ago, the world lost one of its biggest canine stars. Kevin, the tallest dog in history, passed away just weeks after being awarded the Guinness World Record. The three-year-old Great Dane was from West Des Moines, Iowa and had undergone surgery for an illness but unfortunately did not survive.

Kevin measured 0.97m (3ft 2in) from his feet to his withers and stood about 7ft tall on his hind legs, making him a record holder in mid-June. His owner, Tracy Wolfe, expressed her heartbreak at losing him as did her children who were only ten and twelve years old. In a statement to Guinness World Records, she fondly remembered Kevin as a loyal companion who loved attention.

Despite his towering height, Kevin was quite content taking naps and lounging on the couch. However, he had one fear that set him apart from other dogs – the vacuum cleaner! He would jump six feet to escape from it whenever it came near him. Mrs. Wolfe shared these endearing quirks of Kevin who left a lasting impression as the world’s tallest dog.

Tracy Wolfe also shared that Kevin’s favorite pastime was cuddling up with her family and watching TV all day long. Despite his health issues, he never once let them get in the way of his love for life and people around him.

Guinness World Records spokesperson praised Mrs. Wolfe’s efforts to save Kevin despite unexpected health complications and offered their condolences to the family.

Kevin may have been gone too soon but he will always be remembered as a giant among dogs who touched many hearts around the world with his playful spirit and kind nature.

In conclusion, Kevin’s passing was a tragic loss for all those who knew him but his legacy will live on as a reminder of how much joy and love dogs can bring into our lives even in our darkest moments.
