In a major announcement, TGL, the tech-infused golf league set to debut in prime time next year, has revealed that Hideki Matsuyama will be joining the Boston Commons Golf team. This news comes as Tyrrell Hatton has left LIV Golf to join TGL. The Boston Commons Golf team already features Rory McIlroy, Adam Scott, and Keegan Bradley. Matsuyama expressed his excitement about joining forces with these talented players and hopes to push the boundaries of golf to create an unforgettable experience for fans worldwide.

The TGL events will consist of 15 regular-season matches and a postseason, scheduled to kick off in January 2025 at the specially designed SoFi Center in South Florida. Unfortunately, the inaugural season of TGL was delayed by a year due to a dome collapse at the original SoFi Center last November. The collapse was caused by a partial power failure, resulting in no injuries but necessitating the postponement of the league’s launch.

Boston Common Golf is owned by Fenway Sports Group and is one of six teams established by TMRW Sports, spearheaded by Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, and CEO Mike McCarley. With Matsuyama now on board, the Boston Commons Golf team is gearing up to make a strong debut in the upcoming TGL season.
