At the 13th Annual Avionics International Forum, experts and industrial leaders discussed the importance of global cooperation in developing and applying aviation technology. The forum was hosted by the Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics, the Chinese Aeronautical Establishment, and AVlC Airborne System Co., and was attended by more than 500 officials, industry leaders, and experts from home and abroad.

Keynote speakers included Anna von Groote, director general of the European Civil Aviation Equipment Association (EUROCAE), and Zhao Chunling, chief designer of the C929, China’s first long-range wide-body airliner at COMAC. Groote emphasized the rapid growth of the Chinese aviation industry and the significance of exchanges between stakeholders such as government agencies, avionics developers, and regulatory bodies. She mentioned that 60 percent of their standards are developed jointly with international bodies to reduce technical trade barriers.

Zhao played a key role in developing COMAC’s ARJ21, C919, and C929 aircraft. She discussed the future of avionics technology with attendees. Zhao highlighted safety as a top priority for future avionics development. She emphasized that technology needs to be efficient while also being environmentally sustainable to support green development goals. Zhao also pointed out how important it is to ensure that avionics technology can enhance safety during aircraft operations under various scenarios while also optimizing airspace resource utilization amidst increasing passenger traffic post-pandemic.

The forum featured cutting-edge avionics equipment and technologies on display. Industry leaders showcased their latest research on avionics development to attendees from around the world. The two-day forum was an opportunity for experts in various fields to come together to share knowledge and insights on current trends in aviation technology.
