Girona had an impressive La Liga season, finishing it off with a 7-0 win over Granada last Friday. Artem Dovbyk scored a hat-trick in the match, putting him back in the lead for the league’s top goalscorer. The team, led by Michel, secured a third-place finish in the league and earned qualification for the Champions League for the first time in their history. They ended the season behind champions Real Madrid and Barcelona.

The team’s success was due to Eric Garcia, who scored his fifth goal of the season after 30 minutes to open up the scoring. Viktor Tsygankov and Dovbyk added two more goals before halftime, sealing the victory for Girona. In the second half, Tsygankov scored his second goal early on, followed by goals from Dovbyk and Cristhian Stuani. Granada finished second-bottom and were relegated, with Facundo Pellistri being sent off for two yellow cards.

Dovbyk’s penultimate goal in stoppage time reclaimed his lead for the Pichichi Trophy as he scored his 24th goal of the season from a penalty. This achievement marked a memorable moment for Girona and their fans as they celebrated their successful campaign.
