Darius Slayton returned to the Giants’ organized team activities this week after being away from the team for several weeks during the offseason program. The wide receiver had been seeking to rework his current deal or sign a new one with the team.

During a press conference, Slayton shared that the Giants opted to add incentives to his contract in order to bring him back into the fold. His contract is set to expire after this season, and the incentives were added on top of his guaranteed $2.6 million for the year.

According to Field Yates of ESPN, Slayton already had $1.5 million in incentives built into his contract, and the team added another $650,000 to that pool. The specifics of what Slayton must do to earn these incentives have not been disclosed. However, being present at camp and practicing with the team will likely play a role in his ability to trigger those bonuses.

It appears that the Giants and Slayton were able to find common ground to keep him with the team for the upcoming season.
