Germany’s national football team may face a serious challenge in central defense with the injury of Champions League winner Antonio Rüdiger. The German coach, Julian Nagelsmann, expressed concern stating, “Antonio is experiencing problems with his thigh. I hope it’s nothing serious.” No details about the possible injury are currently available.

Nagelsmann mentioned that replacements such as Nico Schlotterbeck and Waldemar Anton are ready to step in, and Robin Koch is also part of the squad. With Jonathan Tah missing due to a yellow card suspension, Rüdiger’s absence in the round of 16 in Dortmund would be a significant blow for the team.

In the preliminary round matches, Nagelsmann stuck to the same formation all three times. However, there will be at least one change in the lineup for the first time in Dortmund as they prepare for the knockout phase. Despite being euphoric about Niclas Füllkrug’s late equalizer, Rüdiger’s injury has added to their concerns as they continue their journey towards becoming European champions once again.
