22-year-old David Hoffken, a talented defensive end from Germany, has officially committed to play for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Standing at 6-foot-7 and weighing in at 257 pounds, Hoffken hails from Keil, Germany. He was discovered by the Cornhusker coaching staff at a football clinic in Houston earlier this month and offered a scholarship shortly thereafter.

After some initial discussions about Hoffken potentially playing on the offensive line, he ultimately decided to stay on the defensive line following extensive conversations with the coaching staff. While gaining enough weight to be game-ready for the offensive line would have been challenging for Hoffken, he felt that his athleticism and mobility made more sense for him on defense.

Hoffken still has all of his eligibility remaining and is set to enroll at Nebraska later this summer. Follow @CornhuskersWire on X and like their Facebook page for ongoing coverage of Nebraska news and updates. This story was originally featured on Cornhuskers Wire.
