On Tuesday, a tragic bombing occurred in Gaza City, claiming the lives of around 15 people. Among the victims was one of the sisters of Ismail Haniye, the leader of the political wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas). The Palestinian newspaper ‘Filastin’ reported that at least fourteen people, including Haniye’s sister and several relatives, were killed in the attack.

Haniye, who had previously mourned the loss of three of her children and four grandchildren in another bombing by Israel, has not yet commented on the recent reports. In April, another of Haniye’s sisters was charged with “incitement to terrorism” for messages supporting attacks against Israel sent through her WhatsApp account.

The Israeli Army also carried out a second bombing that targeted a school used as a shelter for people displaced by Israel’s attacks in central Gaza. At least twelve individuals, including children, were killed in this attack. The Israeli Army has acknowledged its role in the Shati bombing, stating that the buildings attacked were used by Hamas terrorists.

The army claimed that the terrorists were involved in planning attacks against Israel and had used the school as a shield for their activities. While the Israeli Army has accused Hamas of violating International Law by using civilian buildings and populations as human shields, it has not confirmed the identities of those killed in the bombings, including Haniye’s sister.
