The Florida Gators have offered a scholarship to Alex Asparuhov, a punter from San Joaquin Memorial High School in Fresno, California. Asparuhov, who is unrated in the 2025 class, impressed during his visit to the Gators’ football program last weekend. His main contacts during the visit were game-changer coordinator Chris Couch and senior analyst Joe Houston.

Asparuhov’s performance at various events has earned him recognition as one of the most fundamentally sound punters in the 2025 class. He excelled at the Underclassman Challenge and Western Showcase Camp and Kohl’s California Winter Showcase Camp. According to his 247Sports scouting report, Asparuhov scored well in multiple categories, showcasing his control, repeatability, and overall talent as a punter.

With current punter Jeremy Crawshaw’s eligibility ending after the 2024 campaign and only Jack Muse as a walk-on behind him on the roster, the Gators could benefit from adding depth in the specialists room. Adding a prospect like Asparuhov to their roster could provide a significant boost to their punting game. With his impressive skill set and potential as a top-tier punter, Asparuhov has the opportunity to make a notable impact in college football.
