Bellator is thrilled to announce that veteran combat sports and professional wrestling broadcaster Jimmy Smith will be returning to the promotion. Smith, who has a wealth of experience in the industry, will be back in the booth for the Bellator Champions Series event in Dublin on June 22.

Smith previously worked for Bellator from just after the promotion’s second season in 2010 until his departure in December 2017. During his time at Bellator, he gained a reputation for his insightful commentary and expertise in the sport. After leaving Bellator, he signed a one-year deal with the UFC in January 2018. However, his contract was not renewed in January 2019 and he went on to call fights for Invicta FC.

In May 2021, Smith took on the role of play-by-play commentator for WWE’s Monday Night Raw. While he enjoyed his time at WWE, by October 2022, Smith and the company had parted ways. Prior to his return to Bellator, he had been hosting SiriusXM Fight Nation from September 2020 until mid-May 2024.

Smith has had an impressive career in broadcasting and is now looking forward to rejoining Bellator as their exclusive play-by-play announcer. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table and we are excited to have him back on board. The Bellator Champions Series event in Dublin on June 22 is sure to be a great showcase of talent and we can’t wait for Jimmy Smith to be there calling all the action!
