Broncos Wire’s 90-man offseason roster series features eighth-year wide receiver Tim Patrick, who now wears No. 12 after previously wearing No. 81.

Before joining the Broncos, Patrick began his NFL career as an undrafted free agent with the Baltimore Ravens in 2017. He was waived during training camp and later signed with the San Francisco 49ers, who ultimately released him before the start of the season.

However, Patrick found a home with the Broncos when he signed with their practice squad just a couple of months after being cut by the 49ers. He worked his way onto the active roster in 2018 and became a key depth piece for the team. Despite missing part of the 2019 season due to a hand injury, Patrick had a breakout year in 2020, totaling impressive stats over the next two seasons.

Following his outstanding performance, the Broncos signed Patrick to a three-year, $30 million contract extension. Unfortunately, he suffered season-ending injuries in both 2022 and 2023, missing the entire year due to an ACL and Achilles injury, respectively.

While Patrick’s age and injury history may raise some concerns about his future with the team, he remains likely to make the 53-man roster. With a restructured contract in place, Patrick will look to bounce back in 2024 and prove he still has plenty to offer before his contract expires in 2025.

Patrick is one of several players on Denver’s offseason roster that could play critical roles for the team moving forward. The Broncos are eager to get back on track following two straight losing seasons and will need every player they can count on to help them do so.

Despite his setbacks over the past few years, Patrick has shown flashes of brilliance on the field and has proven himself to be a valuable member of Denver’s offense. With renewed determination and focus heading into next season
