Torino has appointed Paolo Vanoli as their new coach after his successful tenure at Venezia which led to promotion. The decision not to renew Ivan Juric’s contract was made as his deal was set to expire on June 30 and he felt he had reached his limit with the team. Vanoli had been chosen as the new coach some time ago, but the deal was delayed due to a release clause in his contract with Venezia, which was eventually negotiated for a reported sum of €800,000.

Paolo Vanoli, who will turn 52 in August, began his coaching career as an assistant manager working with the likes of Gian Piero Ventura and Antonio Conte. He took on his first head coaching role at Spartak Moscow in December 2021 before moving to Venezia in November 2022. Vanoli’s success with Venezia in securing promotion from Serie B through the play-offs paved the way for his appointment at Torino.

With Vanoli now at the helm, Torino looks forward to a new era under his leadership. Meanwhile, Venezia is expected to name Eusebio Di Francesco as Vanoli’s replacement as they continue their own journey in Italian football.
