Efua Amissah-Aggrey is a Columbus-based fashion designer who has been feeling unstoppable lately. At just 25 years old, she launched her brand “Baddest” in April of 2024. The brand’s mission is to empower people to know their worth and value, encouraging them to boldly stand in their own unique identity wherever they go. Additionally, the brand supports efforts in Africa.

Amissah-Aggrey’s journey into fashion design began with a moment of inspiration at Fashion Week Columbus two years ago. Seeing other designers showcase their work ignited a fire within her, pushing her to finally pursue her lifelong dream of designing clothes. With the help of a mentor to refine her sewing skills and grant money to kickstart her business, she dove headfirst into creating her first pieces.

As she immersed herself in the process of bringing her designs to life, something remarkable happened. Her confidence grew, and she experienced a profound shift in how she viewed herself. Overcoming years of battling depression, Amissah-Aggrey realized that she simply needed to embrace her true self, acknowledging that there was never anything wrong with her in the first place.

The creation of her brand “Baddest” was a direct reflection of this newfound self-assurance. The name itself signifies her belief in her own worthiness and aims to instill this same sense of confidence and self-assurance in everyone who wears her clothing, empowering them to walk into any room feeling like the “baddest” version of themselves.

Since embarking on her fashion design journey, Amissah-Aggrey has participated in Fashion Week Columbus and various other shows across the country. As she looks forward to her second appearance at Fashion Week Columbus this year
