Matt Araiza, a former highly regarded punter at San Diego State, had his promising career take a hit due to a sexual assault accusation in 2022. Despite never facing criminal charges and the accuser dropping the lawsuit later on, Araiza was let go by the Buffalo Bills and left out of the NFL for over a year. However, with the off-field incident now in the past, Araiza has a prime opportunity to demonstrate his skills in the NFL.

In 2023, it seems that Araiza will be securing the Kansas City Chiefs’ punting job for the upcoming season. The Chiefs decided to release punter Ryan Rehkow, leaving Araiza as their sole punter on their roster. While there is still a possibility that another punter may be brought in to compete with Araiza during training camp, it appears that he will be their punter when the regular season begins.

During his college days at San Diego State, Araiza was widely regarded as one of the best punters in college football. He won multiple awards and set new records in NCAA history for averaging 51.2 yards per punt and being named first-team All-American three times. In addition to his impressive performance as a punter, Araiza also handled kickoffs and field goals with ease.

If he continues to perform at an elite level this upcoming season with the Chiefs, Araiza has the potential to become one of the top punters in all of football. He has already shown his talent on the field and now has an opportunity to prove himself once again in the NFL.

In conclusion, Matt Araiza’s future looks bright as he prepares for his return to professional football with Kansas City Chiefs after missing out on two seasons due to off-field issues. With his impressive track record from college days and his determination to get back into shape and form, he can establish himself as one of best punters in league this upcoming season if given chance.
