On Wednesday, the Chargers welcomed offensive lineman Alex Leatherwood back to the AFC West as they announced his signing. Although the team did not disclose the terms of the deal, Leatherwood’s return to the division marks a new chapter in his NFL career.

Leatherwood originally entered the league as a first-round pick for the Raiders in 2021. During his rookie season, he showcased his versatility by starting in every regular season and playoff game for the team. He played at both right tackle and right guard positions, demonstrating his adaptability and skill on the offensive line.

After departing from the Raiders after the 2021 season, Leatherwood briefly joined the Bears before ultimately being released. He then spent time on Cleveland’s practice squad during the 2023 season as he continued to develop his game and seek new opportunities in the league.
