In 2023, Nico Collins #12 of the Houston Texans had an impressive season that saw him emerge as one of the NFL’s most productive receivers. He became a favorite target of quarterback C.J. Stroud and played a key role in Stroud winning NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year honors. In 15 games, including 10 starts, Collins recorded 80 catches for 1,297 yards and eight touchdowns, which was a significant increase in production compared to his previous seasons.

The Texans were further bolstered by their success in the 2023 season, which culminated in an AFC South title and their first playoff berth since 2019. To continue strengthening their offense centered around Stroud, they signed wide receiver Nico Collins to a $72 million contract extension. The deal is for three years and has a max value of $75 million, with a guaranteed $52 million. This lucrative contract extension provides Collins with a significant raise and secures his place on the team through the 2027 season.

In addition to Collins, the Texans have also acquired four-time Pro Bowl receiver Stefon Diggs and former Cincinnati Bengals Pro Bowl running back Joe Mixon in the offseason. These additions have made them even more formidable on offense and have helped them become one of the top teams in the AFC. With these moves, it’s clear that the Texans are committed to building a dominant offense that will help them compete for championships for years to come.
