After much consideration, former Wisconsin guard A.J. Storr has officially decided to withdraw his name from the 2024 NBA draft and return to college basketball to play for the Kansas Jayhawks during the upcoming 2024-25 season. Storr originally declared for the NBA draft at the end of the 2023-24 season while still maintaining his eligibility to play at the collegiate level. He then entered the transfer portal and ultimately committed to Kansas.

Storr’s decision marks a significant transition in his basketball journey as he will be playing for his seventh school in as many years, tracing back to his time in high school. His college career has seen him play for St. John’s, Wisconsin, and now Kansas. While his departure from Wisconsin may not have been unexpected, it is a significant change for him and his basketball journey.

During the 2023-24 season, Storr played a crucial role for the Badgers, averaging 28.8 minutes, 16.8 points, 3.9 rebounds, 0.9 assists, and 0.6 steals per game. His contributions were vital to the team’s offensive success and overall improvement that season. Joining a Kansas program that experienced a challenging season in 2023-24, Storr looks forward to helping the team bounce back from their struggles with his skills and experience on the court. Despite their difficulties last year, the Jayhawks have a storied history of making every NCAA Tournament since 1989 and remaining one of the top programs in college basketball.

On the other hand, Wisconsin has been active in the transfer market this offseason by adding three new players to their roster: Camren Hunter from Central Arkansas, John Tonje from Missouri, and Xavier Amos from Northern Illinois. With key departures like Storr, Chucky Hepburn, and Tyler Wahl gone from last year’s roster, Wisconsin is working hard to build a competitive team for next season.

Overall, AJ Storr’s decision is an exciting development for both him and Kansas as they work together towards achieving their goals on and off the court during this upcoming season
