On Friday, the Auburn Tigers made a significant addition to their defense by signing senior defensive back Jahquez Robinson. Robinson will join a mostly re-worked secondary for the 2024 season, bringing much-needed experience and depth to the unit.

Originally a three-star recruit, Robinson spent his first three seasons at the University of Alabama before transferring to Colorado for last season. During his time at Colorado, he played in seven games, starting two. He recorded eight tackles, a fumble recovery, and an interception. His interception came in his first career start against Oregon, a team led by former Auburn quarterback Bo Nix. Robinson was one of the few players who managed to turn over the Heisman Finalist last season.

As he competes for playing time with fellow transfer safety Jerrin Thompson and junior Caleb Wooden, Robinson brings valuable experience to an Auburn secondary that lost key players from the previous season. He will reunite with defensive back coach Charles Kelly at Auburn, who had recruited him at Colorado.

Standing at 6-foot-2, Robinson is eager to showcase his skills as a Tiger when Auburn kicks off its season on August 31 against Alabama A&M. As the summer progresses, he will have the chance to work his way up the depth chart and make a significant impact on the team’s defense.
