Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) has experienced a significant increase in passenger traffic over the past year, with more than double the number of passengers compared to the previous year. This growth has made AIFA the sixth busiest airport in Mexico, but it has yet to crack the top 10 for international destinations.

The Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC) reported a 113 percent increase in domestic passengers at AIFA in February compared to the previous year, with the airport serving 335 thousand passengers that month. However, despite this growth, AIFA still lags behind other major airports in Mexico for international service.

One reason for the increase in passenger traffic at AIFA is the reduction of operations at the International Airport of Mexico City. Additionally, AIFA has seen growth in international operations, with an increase in passengers transported to destinations such as the United States, Colombia, Brazil, and various other countries. Despite this success, AIFA still falls short of other airports in Mexico for international service.
