The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has praised Qatar for its resilience in the face of global uncertainty and geopolitical tensions. Despite conflicts in the region, such as the conflict between Israel and Gaza and tensions in the Red Sea, Qatar remained largely unaffected. The only temporary impact was on its exports of liquefied natural gas due to diversions.

In a statement on Friday, the IMF acknowledged that economic growth in Qatar may slow down in the near term as a result of hosting the FIFA World Cup. However, it is expected to return to normal rates after the event, with medium-term prospects looking positive. The average growth is projected to rise to about 4.5%, driven by significant expansion in liquefied natural gas production.
