The construction of a modern one-bedroom home on a former driveway in Washington, DC has been completed. The unique property, measuring only 10 feet wide, is now on the market for $581,903 and has attracted investors looking to use it as a rental property. The developer faced numerous challenges during the construction process due to zoning laws changing after the property was purchased.

Jennifer Young from Keller Williams Chantilly Ventures explained that alterations had to be made to meet the regulations while also creating a functional and aesthetically pleasing home. Despite fluctuations in pricing since being listed in July 2023 at $799,900, the property has generated significant interest nationwide.

Nady Samnang, who was responsible for building a house on a narrow space situated between two alleys, described the process as challenging. The design went through multiple stages and took nearly seven months to gain approval from the city’s permit office. At one point, Samnang admitted to considering quitting due to the complexities of the project. However, he persevered and delivered a stunning result that is sure to impress potential buyers or renters alike.

Young noted that the house has become one of the most viewed properties on Zillow, with casual interest as well as first-time homebuyers and investors showing interest in using it for various purposes such as Airbnb rentals or accommodation for college students. With its unique design and prime location in Washington, DC, this little house packs a big punch and is sure to make an impression on anyone who sees it!
