The Drag Race franchise has spawned numerous spin-offs over the years, including the All Stars edition in 2012 and a new all-winners show in 2022. These shows have brought back past contestants for another chance at the crown, as well as showcasing the best queens from different seasons. The global expansion of the franchise led to Canada vs. The World, where queens from international versions of the show competed against each other.

However, despite being offered a spot on Canada’s Drag Race vs. The World, Envy Peru declined the opportunity. In an interview with Maddy Morphosis, Envy explained that she wanted to compete in front of RuPaul himself, not just on a spin-off hosted by Brooke Lynn Hytes. Envy expressed her desire to showcase her drag in front of the iconic RuPaul and felt that the timing wasn’t right for her to return to the competition.

While Envy won’t be appearing on Canada vs. The World this season, it has been reported that two contestants will be making their fourth return to the show. Despite the popularity of these spin-offs, some queens like Envy prefer to wait for their chance to compete on the main series and perform in front of RuPaul himself.
