After losing the WTC final and the ODI World Cup in quick succession, this victory had a special significance for the team. As soon as Hardik Pandya’s final over was bowled, the Indian players and support staff erupted in celebration, with some, including Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Pandya himself, in tears.
However, one moment that captured the attention of social media users was when Virat called his wife Anushka Sharma and children to celebrate the victory. During the video call, Kohli’s teary-eyed face showed his true emotions as he blew kisses, made childish faces and tried his best to listen to his family while surrounded by a packed stadium in Barbados.
Netizens praised Kohli’s companionship with Anushka Sharma and some even attributed the victory to the birth of Kohli’s youngest kid, Aakaay. However, some users reminded Kohli that he still has to win the trophy for RCB in IPL. Nonetheless, Virat was hailed as a ‘real family man.’
