Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is a popular figure in the NFL, both for his skills on the field and his outgoing personality. But it turns out, much of that personality may have come from his mother, Donna Kelce, who is well-known for her own accomplishments.

According to People, Donna Kelce, 71, discovered a mug that caught her eye while browsing online. The mug was emblazoned with the words “It’s Mama Kelce’s world and we’re just living in it,” and Donna was so taken with it that she purchased 20 of them as Christmas gifts for her loved ones.

The mugs are not your ordinary kitchen items – they contain the recipe and instructions for Donna Kelce’s famous chocolate chip cookies and sell for around $18 each. They were created by a small business in the Kansas City area called Annie’s Barn, and for every mug sold, $5 goes towards paying off elementary school lunch debt.

After seeing the mug, Donna agreed to donate her cookie recipe to the project. According to Annie’s Barn owner Annie Stowe, the mugs sold enough in just two weeks to pay off roughly $2,000 in lunch debt at a school in the Kansas City area. Stowe says that Donna has not yet responded to her request to help deliver the checks to the schools. She plans to deliver checks to Pawnee Elementary in Overland Park, Kansas as well as two schools in Olathe, Kansas.

Donna became famous for her cookies after making some for her sons Travis and Jason before they met in Super Bowl LVII in February 2023. The cookies are unique because they are flat and more like toffee cookies – this is something that Stowe notes when she reached out to Donna Kelce about the recipe. When she asked if she had done it right, Donna told her that the cookies were meant to be flat like that.

While Donna Kelce is currently enjoying Super Bowl LVI with her son Travis and the Kansas City Chiefs against San Francisco 49ers, sports fans who want to support this cause can visit Annie’s Barn’s website and purchase a “Mama Kelce” mug. Not only will they get a delicious cookie recipe but also contribute towards paying off lunch debt at local schools!
