The recent revelation that Caitlin Clark was not chosen for the USA women’s basketball team for the 2024 Paris Olympics has sparked outrage among fans of the Indiana Fever. However, it was evident in Monday night’s game against the Connecticut Sun that this supposed “monster” was nowhere to be found. Despite being coming off their first loss of the season, the Sun handed the Fever an 89-72 defeat.

In her previous game, Clark had shown promise by scoring 30 points and hitting seven 3-pointers. But in the game against Connecticut, she only managed 10 points on 3-for-8 shooting. Unfortunately, this was one of her lowest scoring totals of the season. Clark had to leave the game in the third quarter after accumulating her fourth foul, along with three other Fever starters. Despite chants from the crowd calling for her, Clark remained on the bench.

DiJonai Carrington led the Sun with 22 points and was met with some boos from the crowd for seemingly mocking Clark’s fouls. Alyssa Thomas, who is set to join the USA Olympic team, pulled down 18 rebounds and dished out seven assists. DeWanna Bonner scored 17 points and moved into 10th place on the WNBA’s all-time 3-point list.

The Fever struggled against Connecticut once again in this matchup and lost all three games they played together this season despite their best efforts led by Aliyah Boston’s 14 points and Lexie Hull’s 10 points respectively . With this loss, Indiana’s record dropped to 3-10 for the season but they will have a chance to turn things around when they host Atlanta Dream next as their rivals Chicago Sky will face them next on road trip .
