The Philadelphia Eagles have been recognized for their outstanding contributions to the community through the nomination for the 10th annual Sports Humanitarian of the Year award. This prestigious recognition highlights athletes and sports figures who are making a positive impact in communities worldwide.

The Eagles have been nominated for their work with the Eagles Autism Foundation, founded by Chairman and CEO Jeffery Lurie in 2018. Lurie’s passion for this cause stems from his personal connection to autism through his brother Peter. The foundation focuses on funding scientific breakthroughs and research while also shifting from awareness to action. In just four years, the foundation has raised $30 million for research and care programs, with $8.1 million raised in 2024 alone through the Eagles Autism Challenge.

The foundation has funded 116 autism research projects and community grants globally, providing year-round support and offering programs like a sensory room at Lincoln Financial Field, a neurodiverse employment program, and all-abilities programs. The Eagles have not only successfully raised funds but also spread awareness for autism research.

Joining the Eagles in this distinguished category are three other teams: the Angel City Football Club, the Indianapolis Colts, and the Miami Heat. The annual ESPYS awards show will air live on July 11, 2024, at 8 p.m. ET/PT. This event celebrates the achievements of athletes and sports figures who are making a difference in their communities.
