Manchester United forward Anthony Martial has announced his departure from the club after nine seasons. The Frenchman, who joined United in 2015 for £36m, never quite reached the expectations set for him as the most expensive teenager in the world. In his time at the club, Martial scored 90 goals in 317 appearances but made his last appearance in a 3-0 defeat against Bournemouth in December.
After undergoing groin surgery in January, Martial returned to training but did not make another first-team squad. His contract with the club expires this summer. Rashford also announced his intention to take a break from social media to reset mentally after a challenging season. Despite missing out on England’s provisional squad for Euro 2024, Rashford expressed his appreciation for the fans who supported him during difficult times, emphasizing the importance of sticking together as part of the Manchester United family.
