The French government has announced additional bonuses of up to 1,500 euros for civil servants working on tasks related to the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games. A decree and an order have been issued to increase certain bonuses and allowances for civil servants involved in the preparation and execution of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. This measure aims to compensate agents who are directly engaged in the Games or affected by changes in service organization due to the events.

In March, the government announced bonuses ranging from 500 to 1,500 euros based on the impact of the Games on service activity and leave taking. In addition to these bonuses, civil servants will also have more teleworking opportunities during the Olympics. Nearly 100,000 public employees will be mobilized for the Games, with various categories of civil servants eligible for increased bonuses.

The bonuses are applicable to a wide range of civil servants, especially those in the State civil service, and are based on an enhanced maximum amount within the existing system of bonuses and allowances for 2024. For law enforcement personnel, a bonus of 1,900 euros for police officers and gendarmes in Île-de-France has been confirmed. The government’s commitment to supporting civil servants during the Olympic and Paralympic Games is evident in these measures.
