In a bid to strengthen its presence in the Indo-Pacific region, France is launching a series of exercises this summer. The French Air and Space Force will be involved in “Mission Pégase 24,” which aims to protect sovereign spaces, promote international law, and enhance partnerships with neighboring countries. The operation will take place from June 27 to August 15 and will involve landing in three air bases of the French Armed Forces in New Caledonia, French Polynesia, and the south of the Indian Ocean.

Thirteen countries will be visited over the eight-week period, with the participation of aircraft such as Rafale and Eurofighter fighter planes, A400M Atlas and A330 MRTT Phénix. There will also be stops and joint exercises in countries like the United States, Canada, United Arab Emirates, Japan, Singapore, Indonesia, New Zealand, Malaysia, India, Qatar, Egypt
