Florida Power and Light (FPL) is leading the way in solar energy with its increasing popularity. In a recent interview, Marshall Hastings from FPL discussed the latest advancements in the solar industry. One new trend that is gaining traction is Solar Together, a voluntary subscription program that allows customers to participate in solar energy without having to install solar panels themselves.

The program offers customers the chance to choose a plan based on their energy needs and receive credits for the energy generated by Florida solar farms. Customers pay a fixed monthly fee ranging from one kilowatt to 100% of their energy usage, and the credits received from the solar centers grow over time, resulting in returns that exceed costs by the fourth year and potentially reaching a full payback into the program by the seventh year of enrollment.

FPL is actively investing in solar energy centers across Florida, focusing on resiliency and sustainability of these solar farms. Hastings assures that environmental concerns are being addressed by FPL as they strive to provide environmentally-friendly and cost-effective energy solutions to their customers. This initiative highlights FPL’s commitment to sustainability and providing cost-effective solutions for their customers.
