On Sunday evening, a vehicle traveling northbound on 10th Street lost control and crashed into the Community Health Center at 126 N. 10th St in Fort Dodge. The SUV collided with another vehicle, reversed, and then struck the building again, causing significant damage to the exterior and doors of the facility. The driver of the SUV was taken to UnityPoint Health — Trinity Regional Medical Center with injuries of unknown severity.
The accident occurred at 6:22 p.m., prompting responses from both the Fort Dodge Fire Department and Fort Dodge Police Department. Lt. Carlyle stated that the incident is currently being investigated to determine its cause. In addition to the damage caused by the collision, members of the Fort Dodge Fire Department were seen working to clean up spilled fluids at the accident scene in front of the Community Health Center on 10th Street on Sunday night.
