Allen Weisselberg, the former chief financial officer of the Trump Organization for 30 years, was escorted out of Manhattan Criminal Court after admitting to two felony charges of first-degree perjury. During a brief sentencing, Weisselberg stood at the defense table and had nothing to say before Judge Laurie Peterson ordered him to serve a five-month sentence.

Weisselberg had previously served 100 days in Rikers Island for his involvement in a payroll-tax fraud scheme at the Trump Organization. This time, he admitted to lying to a state Supreme Court Justice and lawyers from the state Attorney General’s office about his and Trump’s involvement in a fraudulent exaggeration case related to the size of Trump’s penthouse triplex at Trump Tower.

His attorney, Seth L. Rosenberg, made a statement emphasizing that Weisselberg accepted responsibility for his actions and is looking forward to ending this experience and returning to his family and retirement. Despite this setback, Weisselberg remains committed to serving his time and making amends for any harm caused by his actions.
