Steve Bannon, a former advisor to Donald Trump, has been ordered to report to prison by Monday after the Supreme Court denied his appeal. This comes after Bannon attempted to avoid serving a four-month sentence for defying subpoenas from the January 6 commission. Bannon was convicted of contempt of Congress in Washington in July 2022 and was sentenced to four months in prison in October of the same year.

Despite his efforts to challenge the charges against him, Bannon will now have to face the consequences of his actions and serve his prison sentence. US District Judge Carl Nichols had previously suspended Bannon’s sentence while he appealed the decision, but that appeal was rejected in May. With no further legal avenues to pursue, Nichols ordered Bannon to report to prison by July 1. The judge stated that there was no justification for continuing to delay Bannon’s sentencing and incarceration.

This development marks the latest chapter in Bannon’s legal troubles stemming from his involvement in the events surrounding January 6. As he prepares to enter prison, it remains to be seen how this will impact his political career and personal life moving forward.
