On July 11, the former president of the United States, Donald Trump, will be sentenced for 34 counts of falsifying accounting documents in an attempt to hide a payment to Stormy Daniels. The verdict was reached by a jury after two days of deliberations, with Trump maintaining his innocence and claiming that the trial is rigged by the Biden administration.

Stormy Daniels, a former porn actress, had accused Trump of trying to buy her silence in 2016 just before the election. Despite her testimony against him, Trump has continued to deny their alleged affair and claims that he did not testify during the trial out of respect for due process.

The trial included detailed accounts from Daniels about their encounter and testimonies from Trump’s former lawyer, who admitted to orchestrating payments to keep her quiet during the campaign. However, despite this evidence, Trump continues to protest his innocence and plans to appeal the judgment.

The sentence could include up to four years in prison or other penalties such as a suspended sentence or community service. Regardless of the outcome, Trump’s candidacy for president remains valid for now.
