In 2018, Derek Jeter put his lake-front castle in upstate New York on the market for $14 million. However, years of trying to sell the property proved to be unsuccessful. It was only after reducing the asking price significantly that he finally found a buyer. The property was eventually sold for $6.3 million in May 2022.

Jeter originally purchased the castle in 2003 for $425,000 and transformed it into a luxurious fortress measuring 12,590 square feet. The castle features a turret, bridge, waterfall, fountains, and even a replica of the Statue of Liberty. Jeter’s grandfather lived there after being adopted by the Tiedemann family, for whom the property was named.

This is not Jeter’s first major property sale since retiring from MLB almost a decade ago. In 2021, he sold a 21,796-square-foot mansion in Tampa for over $22 million.
