Cade Povich, a former Husker, is set to make his Major League Baseball debut on Thursday afternoon after being called up by the Baltimore Orioles. The left-handed pitcher had a successful stint in Triple-A Norfolk and will now face off against the Toronto Blue Jays at 12:07 p.m. CT in his debut.

Povich posted a 5-1 record in 11 starts with a 3.18 ERA during his time at Norfolk. He also recorded 75 strikeouts in 56.2 innings pitched, showcasing his impressive skills on the mound. During his time at Nebraska from 2020 to 2021, he had a 7-3 record with a 3.52 ERA in 102.1 innings pitched, further solidifying his reputation as a talented pitcher.

Originally drafted by the Minnesota Twins, Povich was acquired by the Baltimore Orioles through the Jorge Lopez trade in August of 2022. With him on the mound for the Orioles this afternoon, they will take on the Blue Jays in Toronto as he makes his big league debut.
