New Michigan basketball coach Dusty May has continued to strengthen his team with the addition of KT Harrell as the director of basketball operations. Harrell, who previously held the same position at Florida Atlantic under May’s leadership, brings a wealth of experience and dedication to the game to Ann Arbor.

May expressed his excitement about Harrell’s arrival, highlighting his ability to connect and communicate with players. Harrell’s background includes stints as a graduate assistant at Auburn and a player for Virginia before joining FAU’s staff. He also played professionally overseas before transitioning into coaching.

Harrell was instrumental in FAU’s success during those two consecutive 25-win seasons, their Final Four appearance, and conference championship under May’s leadership. His expertise and commitment make him an invaluable asset to Michigan’s basketball program.

Speaking on his new role at Michigan, Harrell expressed his enthusiasm about working at such a prestigious institution. He credited Coach May for his dedication to both the game and his players, stating that he looks forward to supporting the coaching staff and players in their pursuit of excellence both on and off the court.

Harrell is just one of several former FAU assistants that have joined Michigan’s new coaching staff, along with coaches from other top programs. The team is well-positioned for success as they gear up for the upcoming season with a strong coaching lineup in place.
