Franklin expressed his feelings of anger and sadness upon discovering that several items had been taken, including his mixing bowl. This unfortunate turn of events occurred just after he had secured a 1-year residency position for his food truck at Overton Park Shell, which was a testament to his impact on the community and culture in Memphis.

Despite his frustration over the theft and setback it has caused, Franklin acknowledged that the issue runs deeper than just property crime. He emphasized the importance of creating a more stable economic future for Memphis, where everyone has enough to prevent incidents like thefts and break-ins.

In response to the robbery, a Go Fund Me campaign was launched by the director of Overton Park Shell to help Franklin replace the stolen items and get his food truck back on track.
