Recently, the Flyers signed a new two-year, $1.575 million contract with defenseman Adam Ginning. As a restricted free agent, Ginning played crucial minutes during the team’s push for the playoffs. His deal includes a two-way contract in Year 1 and a one-way contract in Year 2, with an average annual value of $787,500.
Despite being initially called up to the Flyers in March due to injuries and a trade, Ginning made significant contributions in nine out of the team’s last 19 games. In his first career NHL goal, he had 18 hits, nine blocked shots, and an even plus-minus rating in an average of 14:09 minutes of ice time per game.
Known for his defensive abilities, Ginning had two goals, 13 assists, and a minus-5 rating in 58 regular-season games with the AHL affiliate Lehigh Valley. He previously led the team with a plus-24 rating during the previous season and made his NHL debut in the Flyers’ second-to-last game.
Looking ahead to the 2024-25 season, there may be one or two roster spots available on defense for Ginning to compete for during training camp in September alongside fellow restricted free agent defenseman Egor Zamula.
