Florida catcher Brody Donay celebrated his home run during an NCAA College World Series baseball elimination game against Kentucky on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, in Omaha, Nebraska. The Gators secured a spot in the semifinals against Texas A&M after defeating the Kentucky Wildcats in the first game of the day.

The team showcased a strong performance with a seven-run first inning and eight more runs throughout the game, powered by Pierce Coppola on the mound and Brody Donay at the plate. In the second game, Florida claimed a 15-4 victory over Kentucky after their powerful first inning propelled them forward. The team scored seven runs in the first inning, causing Kentucky starter Dominic Niman to be removed from the game after just one out with five runs on three hits allowed.

Brody Donay’s grand slam was a notable highlight, contributing to Florida’s lead. Despite Kentucky’s efforts, they struggled to score against Florida’s Pierce Coppola, who struck out nine batters in five innings. Highlights of the game included Donay’s grand slam and his 14th season home run, as well as Jac Caglianone’s record-breaking 35th home run.
